This is a pretty unique sight at one of my favorite places on the California Coast. Point Lobos is home to one of two remaining naturally growing stands of Monterey Cypress tree in the world. A number of these Cypress trees are home to this vibrant orange algae, called Trentepohlia. It does not harm the tree but sure does make for an interesting image!
