Great Egret Abstract

20-60-20. A blueprint I try and use for getting the most out of a photo shoot. I spend the first 20% of my time getting a decent image in case the situation changes for the worse. I also call this a banker shot: Acceptably sharp focus, decently composed and exposed etc. With this banker shot in the bag I spend 60% of my time trying to perfect the composition, exposure, and focus. Essentially nailing the shot. Then, when I'm happy I have the shot I want, I spend the remaining 20% of my time getting creative and trying to see the environment and the subject in a unique and creative way. This image definitely falls into the final category!
