Skaftafell
The weather moved in, a bank of low-lying cloud covered the mountain tops, the light had definitely gone. But instead of putting the camera away, I got out the long lens and looked for more intimate compositions. These layers immediately caught my eye. What I love about using telephoto lenses for landscapes is the associated compression of distance. It helps add drama to the scene by bringing that background forward, almost on top of the foreground! I don't think this image would have quite the same impact without this compression.
