White-tailed Kite
Perched high above the flat marshlands of the San Francisco Bay, this Kite is probably resting before it's evening hunt. White-tailed Kites hunt similarly to Kestrels, flapping their wings hard and fast to maintain steady head position above the ground so they can more easily see slight movements in the undergrowth, signifying dinner.
